Depth of Field questions
1. What are three ways to manipulate Depth of Field?
There are 3 ways to manipulate depth of field: Iris, Focal Length and Camera-to-Object Distance
2. Click on Iris & DOF. Click on all the F-Stops and compare the pictures and the illustration of the depth of field, explain in your own words how the images change.
As the F-Stop grows in numbers the subject gets more sharp. The photo taken with a F-Stop of 2 had the most amount of blur while the image taken with F-Stop 16 had all the subjects in focus.
3. If you use a camera lens with a shorter focal length will it create more or less depth of field?
The more focal length you have in a camera the more depth of field you will have. The shorter your focal length is the less depth of field you will have.
4. If you move the camera closer to the subject, will that increase or decrease the depth of field?
If you move the camera closer to the subject it will decrease the amount of depth of field you will have.
5. What are three settings to create expansive DOF?
One can achieve a great DOF by using a great camera-to-object distance, a short focal length, and/or a small iris opening.
6. What are three settings to create shallow DOF?
One can achieve a shallow DOF by using a short camera-to-object distance, a long focal length, and/or a large iris opening.
7. What school is responsible for producing this website and in what state is the school located?
